| Strategic Business Leadership® (SBL)
Strategic Business Leadership® is a non-traditional approach to strategic planning. This systematic approach takes all of the “best of breed” concepts and adapts them in a way that makes it both meaningful and usable specifically for owners of small to mid-sized private business owners. SBL moves you from an “idea of the week” leadership style to one of strategically living life and leading your business to achieve greater personal and business success. The program is ideally suited to allow those using Strategic Business Leadership® to run their companies, to develop the plans and integrate the SBL process at his/her own pace. The fundamentals for SBL’s systematic approach are as follows: a) Realistic approach recognizing the role of the owner b) Practical involvement of employees in the process c) Some benefits can occur quickly d) No overwhelming time commitment e) Non-intimidating f) Easy to use and understand SBL is frequently discussed in relationship to riding a bike: | - The front wheel – is the personal relationship of the owner with the business, recognizing the impact the business has on the life of the owner and their family

SBL starts with a) developing and clarifying both a Personal & Company Vision; then b) Looking in the Mirror (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities & threats); c) Mapping the Road to Success defining prioritized critical success factors & goals using S.M.A.R.T. criteria (specific, measurable; actionable, realistic & time-based); d) developing strategies & action plans; and finally e) Making it happen (implementation). The TAB Board® and Facilitator can be used throughout the planning and implementation process to provide the objective sanity checks, practical experience and advice to insure sound business decisions and to address ongoing challenges and opportunities as they arise. The SBL process is continuous, as First-year Goals are accomplished, Mid-term Objectives are moved into their place. The company is thus “evergreen”, growing and continuing to improve and expand.
